SMOSHC

At St Martins Out of School Hours Care, affectionately known as SMOSHC, we strive to provide a fun, child-centred program within a welcoming, safe and nurturing environment. We aim to promote a sense of belonging and the development of secure, respectful & positive relationships with all children and their families.

The children are the voice of our program and are at the heart of all that we do, we create opportunities for sharing ideas and value their input to ensure play and leisure opportunities are meaningful, relevant, engaging, child-centred and fun. St Martins Out of School Hours Care recognises and values Australia’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures as a core part of the nation’s history, present and future.

We encourage the development of respectful partnerships with families, the College, and the community. Parent’s and families are the child’s key educators and respectful, collaborative relationships strengthen the efforts of families and SMOSHC to support and promote each child’s health and wellbeing. We are guided by the National Quality Standards and the School Aged Care Framework – My Time Our Place. The best interests of the children and their right to play, learn and develop in a safe and nurturing environment, is the primary thought in all decision making and is evident in the actions, interactions and daily work with the children.

At SMOSHC we are an inclusive on-site service and only provide care for students enrolled at St Martins Lutheran College. We embrace the values of St Martins Lutheran College, the St Martins ‘Spirit’ of Respect, Compassion, Growth, Faith, Encouragement and Hope.
