Reception to Year 6

Inspiring Curious, Capable, and Confident Learners

At St Martins Lutheran College, our R–6 Village is committed to providing a high-quality education aligned with the Australian Curriculum. We nurture a love of learning within a supportive environment that values respect, compassion, and the diverse strengths of each child.

We understand that student wellbeing is fundamental to learning. Our approach supports the social, emotional, cognitive, physical, and spiritual development of every learner—building the confidence and skills they need to thrive both now and into the future.

Central to our curriculum is the development of strong foundational skills in literacy and numeracy. These are delivered through evidence-informed, sequential programs that encourage inquiry, creativity, and problem-solving. From Reception onwards, students are supported to become capable communicators, collaborative learners, and independent thinkers. Small class sizes and targeted support allow us to respond to individual learning needs and nurture each child’s potential.

Alongside core learning areas, students engage in a broad range of experiences across The Arts, Health and Physical Education, Languages, and Technologies. Specialist subjects include Music, Physical Education, AUSLAN, Digital Technologies, and Library Literacy, providing rich opportunities for curiosity, expression, and exploration.

As a Lutheran Christian school, our teaching and relationships are grounded in faith. Christian Studies, daily devotions, and weekly whole-college worship foster spiritual growth and a strong sense of belonging within our community.

Our students also enjoy a variety of extra-curricular opportunities, including school sport, Human Powered Vehicles (HPV), and Lego League. These programs encourage creativity, teamwork, and personal growth beyond the classroom.

St Martins follows a two-stream structure across most year levels, with three Reception classes to accommodate our Mid-Year Reception intake. This structure enables us to create a nurturing and engaging learning environment where every student is known, supported, and able to flourish.
