As part of the Year 9 Geography unit on Biomes, 9DA spent time at the Naracoorte Caves National Park learning about the Boneseed weed.
Natasha Dawson from Landscape SA and Alan, a Park Ranger, explained how to identify and pull out this environmental weed. They also showed us how to cut the weeds and swab the stem with chemicals. After their demonstration, we worked in pairs to find the weed in the National Park.
Students worked for quite some time and managed to pull up or destroy an impressive number of weeds!
