Our Year 4 students set off bright and early from Mount Gambier last Wednesday, buzzing with excitement for their camp at Halls Gap! Their first stop was the Lakes Playground in Hamilton for a quick break, before heading to the Halls Gap Zoo for an guided tour. The zookeeper shared fascinating facts about the animals, perfectly tying in with the students’ Geography unit on endangered species and sustainability.
Some highlights getting up close to a cheetah, meeting a red panda, and patting a dingo! Students also enjoyed feeding the deer and ostriches.
On Thursday morning, they ventured to Venus Baths, where they cooled their toes in the mountain pools and enjoyed a morning tea surrounded by nature. After a wonderful camp experience, the group returned home with many tired but happy campers.
A heartfelt thank you to the parents who joined in on this adventure!
