On Wednesday August 16, 32 Year 9 and 10 students attended the Lakes Rotary Mt Gambier Science and Engineering Challenge at the Wulanda Recreation and Convention Centre. The Science and Engineering Challenge is a nationwide program where students experience aspects of science and engineering which they would not usually see in their school environment. The feature event was the bridge building task in which student needs to build a bridge with limited resources to withhold the weight of a loaded trolley. Other activities include plane construction, powering a town, tower construction and code breaking. St Martins competed against other regional schools, placing fourth overall.
